Upgrades to our ATMs
Chip reader technology is being installed on our ATMs.

Beginning August 15, 2016 Community First Bank will be updating its ATM's to enable EMV capability. You may notice some signs posted on our ATM's indicating these upgrades. Some of the changes you will notice with having the chip reader enabled are listed below.

  • When card is inserted, the user may hear a ‘click’ sound – which means the ATM is ‘looking’ for the chip
  • Within 2 seconds of inserting the card, if the card is a standard mag-stripe, an ATM screen will tell the cardholder to remove their card from the chip reader – since there is no chip to be found.
  • If the card has a chip on it, the chip reader will clamp onto the card to insure it stays in place until the transaction is complete.

Due to these upgrades, customers who have multiple accounts tied to their debit cards, will only be able to access their primary checking or savings account. Access to any secondary accounts will be restored after August 30th.
