    CFB Lancaster is Now Open!

    Our service area is growing and soon Community First Bank will serve the Lancaster area with banking services. As part of our agreement to purchase the Wisconsin Bank & Trust branch located in Lancaster, Wisconsin, we'll be adding one more location to our network of banking locations - and excited to welcome customers of that office to our banking family. 

    When the branch re-opens as Community First Bank on Monday, July 12th, you will notice additional staff members welcoming you into an open lobby during normal business hours of Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4pm and Friday 8:30am-5pm. Additionally, the drive-thru is open for the extended hours of Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5pm, Friday 7:30am-6pm, and Saturday 8:30am-Noon. Our deposit-taking ATM is available 24/7 for convenient transactions, and our fully staffed branch is ready to serve you in all your retail, mortgage, commercial, and alternative investment banking needs.

    7/6/21 Update:

    This weekend, July 9th-11th, Wisconsin Bank & Trust (WB&T) in Lancaster will be converting to Community First Bank (CFB), which will officially open on Monday, July 12th. There are a few key points in the timeline for this weekend we wanted to reiterate:

    The WB&T branch in Lancaster will close for business on Friday, July 9th, at noon. The branch will remain closed through the weekend and will reopen as CFB at 7:30am on Monday, July 12th.

    Your WB&T debit card will be deactivated on Friday, July 9th, at 7pm. Please ensure you have a second form of payment or cash on hand for this weekend.

    Your current WB&T online banking will be deactivated on Saturday, July 10th, between 2-4am. You will be able to login to CFB's online banking after midnight on Monday, July 12th.

    Key Points:

    • You have recently received a welcome booklet with all the information you need to know about your accounts and the bank. This is your guide through the transition; please review it carefully and contact us with any questions you have. If you did not receive a welcome booklet, please call 608-375-4117.
    • If you are currently a debit card holder with Wisconsin Bank & Trust, you will receive new debit cards prior to July 12th, and can begin using them as of that date.
    • Your online banking information and user guide will come to you late June. This will help assist you in getting enrolled in CFB online banking.

    When does the name change to Community First Bank?

    The name and signage will change to Community First Bank upon completion of the transition, which is the weekend of July 9th. Opening as Community First Bank will occur on Monday, July 12th. Until then, we will continue to operate under our separate bank names and systems.  

    How do we know the conversion will go smoothly?

    CFB is deeply connected to the needs and goals of the communities we serve. We will provide communications to guide you through this transition and ease your mind with detailed information around account numbers, direct payments and direct deposits, debit cards, loan payments, online banking, and more. 

    Can I use any CFB branch once I’m a customer?

    Yes! You will officially become a CFB customer on Monday, July 12th. We have nine other locations in southwest Wisconsin and you are welcome to use whichever branch is convenient for you.

    Is there anything I need to do right now? Should I continue using my checks, debit card, online banking, etc.?

    It’s business as usual for now. You will receive information in advance of the systems and technology conversion and any changes that may affect your account(s). Continue using your current checks, debit card, and online banking until the transition to Community First Bank, which is effective Monday, July 12th. 

    How will my account change once it is moved to CFB?

    You will receive a Welcome Booklet in early June.  It, and in some cases individual letters, will explain any changes you can expect related to your account(s).  The Welcome Booklet includes a Product and Services Overview Guide that outlines how your WB&T accounts will convert to CFB and other important information.  If you feel the account doesn’t fit your needs, please remember we have a wide range of options for you to choose from.

    Will the transfer of my account to CFB affect my checks and deposit slips?

    We will be able to accept items with the WB&T routing number and account number for 75 days after the conversion on Monday, July 12 to CFB.  We do encourage you to order new checks and deposit tickets at your earliest convenience. (We will provide a free box for you!)

    Will my direct deposit and other automatic deposits and payments transfer to Community First Bank?

    Community First Bank will continue to honor the direct deposits and automatic payments presented with the WB&T Routing No. for 75 days after opening.   If you have an existing direct deposit to your WB&T account, it will automatically transfer to your new CFB account.  Your account will transfer to CFB, along with all direct deposits and direct withdrawals upon conversion. There could be instances we need the customer to assist; but the accounts will convert automatically.  NOCs (Notification of Change) will be sent on your behalf to the Federal Reserve and we may ask you to connect with the originator to supply updated account information.

    How will the transfer of my account affect my ATM or Debit Card?

    You will be sent a new ATM/Debit card automatically.  Remember, we cannot send this out too early due to safety and fraud.  Dates and timelines will be provided soon in future correspondence.  (We will not have digital wallet, Apple pay or Samsung pay.)

    What will be my PIN (Personal Identification Number)?

    You can select a PIN and activate your card by calling 800-290-7893. Details of activation will be sent to you with the card.

    Will I still be able to use the same local ATMs? How are the ATM fees handled?

    Yes, you will still be able to use your local ATM.  There is no surcharge for using any CFB ATM.

    Will my ATM or Debit Card limit change?

    Your limit may change upon the conversion to CFB.  Please contact your Personal Banker with any questions. More information to come.

    If I make a deposit at CFB, how soon will it be available to cover checks and other transactions?

    The following information explains how soon various types of deposits, such as checks deposited from another bank, will be available for your use at Community First Bank. The funds availability details are included in the Welcome Booklet.

    • Deposits made by 4:00pm, (if there are no holds placed on the checks), will be available the next business day. 
    • Cash and direct deposits (such as payroll direct deposit, Social Security or other government checks) – are generally available the same day of deposit, please see a customer service representative for the complete Funds Availability policy.
    • If you make a deposit at an automated teller machine (ATM) that is owned and operated by CFB before 2:00 pm CST on a Business Day that we are open, we will consider the deposit made that day. However, if you make a deposit at an ATM that is owned and operated by us after 2:00 pm CSST or on a day that we are not open, we will consider the deposit made on the next Business Day we are open.

    What happens to my WB&T credit card?

    Your existing WB&T credit card will continue to be active.  Use your existing card as you always have and make your payments as usual.  WB&T will continue to service your credit card relationship.

    How will rates and terms be affected on my Certificate of Deposit that will transfer to CFB?

    Your WB&T CD will remain at the same rates and terms as you have today until maturity.  Prior to maturity, you will receive a renewal notice for your Certificate of Deposit explaining the new rate and terms.

    What will happen to my IRA Savings Account?

    Your current IRA Savings Account will be converted to Variable Rate IRA product type.

    Are there Overdraft Services available at CFB?

    Yes. If you had an overdraft service at WB&T, it will be converted to CFB’s comparable overdraft service.  CFB offers a variety of services to help you avoid declined transactions or returned items in the event there are not enough funds in your account to cover them. Checking Plus Sweeps, First Reserve, and First Overdraft Privilege (FOP) can be used individually or together for extra protection on your account. Talk with a banker at your local CFB branch if you have questions regarding CFB’s overdraft services, as follows:

    • First Overdraft Privilege (FOP): our courtesy overdraft product to protect your account in case of an overdraft.  Refer to the Account Overview section for the FOP limit automatically included per account product.
    • Checking Plus Sweeps: auto-transfer from another account to cover the overdraft.
    • First Reserve: loan product to transfer to your account in the event of an overdraft.

    Will I receive statements for my accounts?

    Statements for accounts will be provided monthly.

    What happens if I have a Health Savings Account?

    It will transfer to CFB.  Your 1099SA and 5498SA forms will be mailed out by January 31, 2022.  If you make a prior year contribution between January 1 and April 15, 2022 you may receive an additional 5498SA form for tax year 2021.

    Will my WB&T safe deposit box be affected?

    No, your safe deposit box contract will remain in effect. Fees for WB&T Lancaster will not be assessed until January 1, 2023.

    What about my tax reporting?

    To keep you informed of 2021 tax documents, following is a listing of what you can expect to receive from WB&T and CFB:

    2021 Interest Tax Reporting: WB&T Customers will receive 1 notice from WB&T regarding interest paid or earned up to July 9th, 2021 and you could receive another interest paid or earned from CFB from July 10th, 2021 through December 31st, 2021.

    IRA/HSA 5498 Contribution Tax Reporting: CFB will prepare and mail to you all statements and tax forms for the 2021 tax year.

    Will I be able to access my account by phone?

    Will I be able to work with the same staff?

    Will my loan number change?

    No, your loan number will stay the same.

    Does my loan interest rate change?

    Your interest rate and all terms and conditions of your original agreement will remain the same.

    Does my payment due date change?

    The payment due date and all terms and conditions of your original agreement will remain the same.

    Can I still view my loan online?

    Yes, after your initial user name and password conversion to CFB’s site is complete you will still be able to view your loan through your online banking account.

    Who will be servicing my loan?

    CFB services most loans locally.  You will experience the same exceptional customer service and personal attention you are accustomed to.

    My loan payment is automatically deducted from my deposit account. Will that service continue?

    Yes, your auto deductions will remain on the same schedule without any interruptions.

    Will decisions about loans continue to be made locally?

    As a community bank, decisions are made locally, by the same great people who live and work in our communities.

    Will my account or routing number change?

    In most cases, account numbers will remain the same.  If there is a change, your local banker will personally notify you prior to Friday, July 9th, 2021.  Much more information will be coming in our customer welcome booklet in the beginning of June.

    Will my accounts automatically transfer to CFB Online Banking?

    Yes.  Much more information will arrive in June, but your accounts will transfer.

    When does my access to WB&T Online Banking end?

    Access to WB&T online banking will continue up until Friday, July 9th, however, more information will be provided soon on exact date and time.

    Will my online bill payees automatically transfer to CFB?

    Payees and payments will automatically transfer to Community First Bank Bill Pay.

    What happens to items I have scheduled in bill pay?

    Again, this will be addressed in a separate letter in the near future.

    Will I have Mobile Banking at CFB?

    Yes! More information to come.

    Can I receive text alerts for my accounts?

    After you have enrolled in CFB Online Banking, you can enable Text Banking under Mobile Settings.  You can check your balance, view your transaction history and transfer funds between accounts.

    What happens if I am currently enrolled in eStatements at WB&T?

    Information on enrolling in CFB eStatements will arrive in a separate letter in the near future.
