Supporting the Heart of a Community 7/2/2014 Significant donation helps to upgrade and maintain village community park.

Community parks are often the heart of many communities, so is true in the Village of Blue River. From family gatherings, bar-b-ques, play dates, and softball games, the community park is the spot to come together. Community First Bank recognizes the critical role that a community park plays in a community, and was pleased to find that its recent donation to the Village of Blue River would go towards updating and maintaining the park grounds.

In May of 2013, Community First Bank (CFB) made a difficult decision to close its long standing location in Blue River, WI. At that time CFB committed to the Village of Blue River to continue to contribute to the community both financially and through volunteerism. From the recent sale of CFB’s building, the old bank site, a significant portion of the building sale was donated to the Village of Blue River for community projects. “We value the relationships we have built over the years in the Village of Blue River, and will continue to support and partner with the Village,” said Dan Klahn, President of Community First Bank.

The first project slated on the community project list is to upgrade the playground equipment at the Village Community Park, starting with the animal spring riders. “The spring riders alone range from $800 to $1200 each, but are a heavily used play station at the park, thus the importance to replace them, said Valerie Bailey, Village of Blue River Clerk Treasurer. We thank Community First Bank for their significant contribution to the Village and have valued their continued support and partnership throughout the years.” Other projects include an upgraded score board and other maintenance.
